The tables were always covered in used cups and plates and as its seating was outdoors, the wind blew everything around. Added to this was the local pigeon population, which had figured out that this was an excellent foraging ground for leftover morsels. So in amongst the refuse was the added delight of pigeon droppings. All in all a very attractive place to stop for a coffee and piece of cake—not.
